Position: Detox Technician

About Us: At Laguna Shores Behavioral Health, we are dedicated to helping individuals overcome substance abuse and embark on the path to recovery. Our detoxification and residential treatment program offers a supportive environment where individuals can take their first steps toward a healthier, addiction-free life. We are seeking passionate and qualified Detox Technicians to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Detox Technician, you will play a vital role in the recovery journey of our participants. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  1. Supervision: Providing attentive supervision to participants requiring detoxification and residential services, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  2. Monitoring: Carefully monitoring participants for withdrawal symptoms, adverse reactions to medications, and any other medical concerns. Regularly measuring vital signs to track their progress.
  3. Documentation: Maintaining accurate and thorough records of participant observations, progress, and incidents. Your documentation will help guide their treatment plans and ensure their needs are met.
  4. Recovery Advocacy: Serving as a dedicated recovery advocate, your primary focus will be to support, inspire, and empower participants on their journey to sobriety. You will actively engage them in recovery-related activities and encourage their involvement in community self-help groups.
  5. Transportation: Assisting with participant transportation to appointments, meetings, and activities related to their recovery.
  6. Community Resources: Connecting participants with valuable community resources to enhance their recovery process. Your guidance will help them access the support they need outside our program.
  7. Drug and Alcohol Testing: Managing and overseeing drug and alcohol testing to ensure compliance with program requirements and participant accountability.

Minimum Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Professional Registration: Registration with respected organizations like CCAPP or ACCBC, demonstrating your commitment to ethical standards and professional development in addiction counseling.
  • Recovery Knowledge: A solid understanding of recovery concepts, withdrawal symptoms, and the stages of addiction recovery.
  • Field Experience: Prior experience in addiction counseling, residential treatment, or related fields will be highly beneficial.
  • Medical Knowledge: Familiarity with basic medical practices, including medication understanding, side effects, and adverse reactions. Proficiency in measuring vital signs and documenting observations.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification: Up-to-date certifications in CPR and First Aid to respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Health Clearances: T.B. Clearance and and Health Screening Clearances to ensure your fitness for the role and the safety of our participants.
